Haulways began as R & R Jones way back in 1979 with 1 small Mecedes 307d driven by Roy Jones after he was made redundant from the Birmid in Smethwick where he has worked for nearly 20 years. He was soon joined by his son Keith after he too was made redundant from his apprenticeship as a mechanic at Chatwins in Smethwick. In 1981 Dave Bowater Joined the team after passing his test at 17.
Haulways was established in 1982 operating from Union Street in West Bromwich with over 13 vehicles and employees.
In 1984 Haulways moved to Pleasent Street in West Bromwich where it operated for over 26 years. Over 20 people were employed with a fleet of 18 vehicles. Haulways delivered goods all over the UK
In 2003 things changed- pallet networks were becoming more common providing a more efficient way to deliver and collect goods. Haulways joined the United Pallet Network (UPN) based in Melton Mobray.
In 2005 a move to a closer hub network- Pallet-Track Ltd in Wednesbury was a logical solution cutting down the trunking time.
November 2010 Haulways moved business premisis to Oldbury.
Haulways runs on a more efficient scale with most of our pallet work going through Pallet-Track to be delivered all over the UK
The original members are still here- Roy & Keith Jones and Dave Bowater along with some of their original customers. Dave's son Robert has also joined 'the team' making Haulways a truly 'family affair'.
